~Two Sides Of The Coin~

This story was posted earlier in the thread but was deleted, this Original story is by SkyIris and me. It's a joint effort in a story that we wanted to create. So credit goes to both of us. Please R and R(read and review) to tell us how the story is so far.


As the sunset was about to rise two knights one an elite and the other an honorary knight in training were sparring. The older of the two was the elite knight, a close advisor to the king and one of his close friends. His hair was black with yellow eyes while the boy in front of him his apprentice had pink short pink hair that over the course of three years grew to his mid back. The boy's eyes were a violet purple color and he was one of the few dedicated knights he had seen in a while. As their spar continued the elite knight took into account how the young man in front of him named Hiro had progressed when he first entered as a knight. His name as a noble would have given him an immediate rank yet this young man began at the bottom as if he was a regular commoner and worked his way up. It was admirable to see someone like Hiro nowadays, especially when nobles would want to be assigned a rank. That is why this elite Knight took Hiro under his wing after he saw the immense growth and effort he used in about a month after joining the knight academy.

After ten minutes the two decided to take a break from their spar before continuing the spar. The young pink haired man knew he would need to take his rounds around the town and market and wondered if he would have time to sneak a visit to see his family. Before he could ask his mentor the elite knight a man with fiery red haired called to them, "Hey you two!! Breakfast is ready!! Hurry up!!" As the red haired man got closer it was the castle's cook Akaito who had called them for breakfast and as Hiro and his mentor asked what was for breakfast they found out it was the usual pancakes with milk and honey. Something that both knight enjoyed as it was one of the cook's breakfast specials that the King was usually privileged to have. As Akaito left both knights grabbed their belongings and sheathed their swords knowing that once the cook called them they had better hurry The last time they had been late for breakfast Akaito had refused to cook for either of them saying it was a waste of his time and talent for those that were late.


Waking back with my master I wondered if the food Akaito had made today was delicious. I wasn't going to make the mistake of being late, not like last time when my master and I were too into our spar that I told him to ignore him. Being a knight was more fun than I had ever wanted from the noble life that I had in the past. My parents weren't happy with this decision but after a while they became thrilled with it since I moved up the ranks of the Knight school more quickly than anyone had seen. I guess the fencing and fighting classes I had secretly taken without my parents knowledge helped me out more than I needed. Initially my family had believed I wanted to be a knight because of a women but I wasn't interested in any girls of the noble families after growing up and being surrounded by them.

I sighed remembering that a month after becoming a knight my parents had arranged a marriage partner for me. Don't get me wrong I didn't dislike the girl it was rather that she shouldn't be talked into something like marriage so soon, she was three years younger than me. Marriage to a knight wasn't too fun knowing we went into wars faster than the regular noblemen who normally paid others to go in their place. I shook my head at the stupidity that many men of my class did, but I never liked being a noblemen. Always craving something different and adventures were on my mind as I grew up. I honestly didn't have any interests in girls or better yet said I haven't found a girl I like, but I knew women well. I didn't understand them but I knew how to treat them.

Arriving at the kitchen I sat with a few of the maids, Akaito, and my mentor. The food was served and we said grace before we began to dig into the food before us. As I took my first bite which I was hesitant to do but after seeing the maids and my master I took the first bite and loved it. After the first bite I kept eating until it somehow was magically gone and thanked Akaito for the good meal. If the King had these kinds of meals I knew for a fact that he wouldn't hesitate to try something new if Akaito made them with such a passion.

When I finished I stood up and went to my room to drop off my sparring armor and change into my normal knight uniform. I would have to carry my bag, which I usually wore when I patrolled, it usually just consisted of a magical bottle tat I used for my water. I would have to see how much money I had in my pouch knowing I was saving up for new armor, I didn't want to use any or rather declined all the money my family offered me as I stayed here as a knight.

After changing into my Knight's uniform, I grabbed my pouch and bag before heading out. Placing my pouch in my bag I began to head to the city where I would patrol, as I looked up at the sky. It seemed that if I was quick enough I would be able to visit my family members since it was near mid-morning now.

The sun sat high of the horizon while clouds pass slowly overhead leaving someparts of the sky clear blue. Nothing but clear green feilds were around for miles before heading into the city. The sounds of a horses hooves hit the dirt road while causing the dust to rise underneath every beat with its hooves. An old cart filled with hay rattled with the movement of the horse down the road.

A small quiet sigh escaped Megumi's mouth while she decided to try and rest after sneaking onto the back of this hay cart. Luckily she didnt make a sound all the way on this ride or she would have been probally found by now and kicked off this cart; or even be labled a "Theif" once again. Megumi looked up at the clouds while the sunlight hit her face while she yawned.

"How can I find the importance of myself?.."

Megumi wispered to the clouds while her purple eyes gleamed with wonder.


Floating infront of Megumi's eyes was a light blue orb that slowly followed. It moved slowly behind the cart while Megumi sat up alittle but not to much to where she could be seen. She opened the palm of her hand lightly while the orb landed lightly into the palm of her hand. The orb regenerated itself, forming a little ice like creature that looked like a human. Its blue frozen hair flowed while Megumi stared. It waited for her answer.

"You say so,Rei"

Megumi sighed while the frozen creature rested on the hay right beside her. She hoped the town was near so she could get out of the haycart. The smell of the moldy hay was getting to her while Rei seemed to enjoy the country side for now. Megumi decided to fall asleep for awhile until she got to the city. She adjusted her dark violet hoodie that was attactched to her poncho.

Megumi awoke from her long sleep while widening her eyes and fluttering them shut to see a that they were in a market now. Rei seemed to gone back into orb form but luckily Megumi was hidden so no one would have pointed her out already. She was ready to get out of this hay while not thinking of a good plan.

Megumi popped out of the hay too see vendors at each street corner with fruits,flowers and many other items. She jumped out of the haycart with the small bag that she had and hurry dashed at full speed down the cobbled stone path. The driver turned around while his eyes widened in suprise while hay flew everywhere.

"GET THAT GIRL! THIEF! THIEF!

Megumi turned around while vendors started to stare at her while she put on a slight smirk to her amusement, but just hated being labled a theif. She ran through the market place while Rei started to appear clearly.

"Get out of here as fast as you can, Ill help you if you need me."

Megumi nodded while she saw the flags of the local knights starting to appear. While running she missed and knocked over a crate of oranges causing one vendor to shout. Then she saw that the knights were already on her tail while she jumped ontop of the stand to another vendor knocking over valuable items. The vendor tried to knock Megumi off the table with a broom but was Megumi's landing place after she tripped. She quickly apologized and dashed.

"Darn. Oh and Sorry!"

Megumi said while the knights were getting closer, she kept running anways to the center of town. Megumi stopped and opened her palms her hands to summon her staff. The golden staff appeared while Megumi summoned a quick ice spell to freeze the ground. She froze the ground infront of her while one knight came forward but slipped.


Megumi stuck her tongue out like a little child while starting to run again to the center of the down. She caused more trouble to brew on the way by just trying to escape a crime that she didnt do.

Megumi got to the center of the town while noticing a another band of knights while she just smirked and stated.

"Well you all just came for the right show~ Hope you enjoy! Because I am tired of being called a thief!"

Megumi caused a cast seal to appear on the ground that was shape like a star with blue writing and a light blue outer ring. The staff orb was now ice blue and then Rei appeared, Megumi stared at the knights while they were shocked to see this type of magic.

Megumi flipped her staff and casted the spell freezing all the knights in the area that she was in. More knights came the back way while one already trying to slash at her while it was blocked by her staff and then suddleny punched heavily by Megumi.

Rei connected with Megumi with the help of the cast seal causing the the three orb head band of hers to glow while Megumi started to feel power rush through her veins. Megumi started to use combat on the knights while blocking with her staff. She launched another ice spell freezing more knights...

I sighed as I heard the noise, and here I had wanted to finish my work early to visit my parents to see how they were doing. I walked towards the source of the noise as I heard a vendor yell and several of my fellow knight’s rush to the scene. I wasn’t in any rush so I just continued to walk and pondered in thoughts about what I would end up buying here at the market place. I had originally had thought of buying armor since I had saved up what I had earned as knight for the past few months to buy durable armor, knowing the one I had used was beginning to crack and rust. I thought about it and knew I would still have a lot of money left over as I heard people scream about a thief. I sighed as I snapped out of my thoughts, this was getting serious and I had to step in knowing the other knights might be in for something. Thieves were usually a pain to deal with, as I recalled my first assignment which was to catch a thief and a rogue. It was hard work but I had captured both of them with bruises but I was still able to accomplish my assignment.

Picking up the pace I began to run into the market place to see what had happened, a crate of oranges had been knocked down as I heard my fellow Knights ahead. I stopped in front of the vendor and asked him a few questions trying to get some information out of him, knowing it might come in handy for him. After I had gotten the information I left to catch up to my fellow knights and saw that there was ice on the ground which left me puzzled as one of them explained a girl had done that. I grimaced and headed up to a roof as I quickly climbed it and went around the ice, “Hurry and go around there is a short-cut behind this house and the house over there!” I yelled as I pointed the instructions out. They nodded and left as I climbed up the house’s roof and made my way until I saw a girl, a smirk made its way to my face as I observed her.

My purple eyes grew cold as I saw the chaos this girl was causing the kingdom and a witch no less from that little creature giving her power and that staff. I sighed in slight disgust as I watched her do combat with one of my fellow knights. She was an okay combat fighter considering that knight was one of the weakest and a beginner at that. I smirked and jumped down as I landed a few feet away. I approached her quickly and silently, “hey!” I yelled as I took her by surprise as she turned around. I was able to snatch her staff and her little friend as I quickly gave threw the staff to one of my companions. As for the little creature I was able to place it in a jar that I carried in case I needed water. I chuckled as I placed it in my bag, a bag that most of us knights carried with us. The only difference was the container I had a small property that if anything in it had magic properties they would become useless. I looked at the girl and spoke, “A thief, eh?” I asked her as I quickly went behind her making sure she didn’t run as I wrapped my arms around her pinning her to my chest. I wasn’t going to let her run for it nor was I going to let her keep causing trouble. “You are under arrest for trespassing in this kingdom, causing mayhem, engaging in combat with a knight and destroying vendor’s materials without compensation. As well as running from the knights and scaring the villagers.” I told the girl as my mentor arrived. His worried eyes seemed to calm down and nod in approval for the good work I had just done. He approached the girl and hand-cuffed her as he and a few others would escort her to the king to be judged.
